Woodgate & Clark eyes further recruitment to cover business growth

Woodgate & Clark is planning further recruitment in 2021 as the business continues to plan for growth.

Head of HR Lyndsey Moore said that the loss adjuster is expecting to hire 15 new FTEs in 2021, following on from a similar number of hires in 2020. Overall the business has seen a 15% increase in headcount during the last two years, not including the recent acquisition of Quadra.

The new positions run right across the business but include loss adjusters in Scotland, Leeds, London and the South West, as well as handling and administration roles in London, Basildon and at head office in West Malling, Kent.

Commenting on the recruitment drive, Lyndsey said: “We are growing fast. Underlying claims volumes have risen sharply, especially claims for covid-related losses. We have also won new business.

On BI claims Lyndsey said that after the appointment earlier this year of adjuster accountant Julie Groves to head up Woodgate & Clark’s BI claims operation, “we continue to service our clients on a case-by-case basis, with each case assigned to an individual loss adjuster with the experience to settle cases as quickly as possible. We will ensure that we remain fully equipped to deliver successful outcomes for our clients and their customers for BI.”

Lyndsey said that while qualifications are the key criteria for new appointments, she is keen to increase the number of female loss adjusters in the business.

“At the moment, 10% of our adjusters are women, although 44% of our total workforce is female.  Statistics from CILA show that there are more women qualifying as loss adjusters than men so I am optimistic that we will be able to increase the proportion of women in our loss adjusting team during this latest recruitment effort.”
