Woodgate & Clark Focuses on Growth in Delegated Claims as Certainty Over SLAs Drives Demand for Expertise

Posted on 28 February 2024

In response to increasing demand from insurers and MGAs for delegated claims authority expertise, particularly in increasing times of surge, Woodgate & Clark, the specialist loss adjuster has expanded its highly respected Delegated Claims Authority Team (DCA). The DCA Team at Woodgate & Clark supports all lines of business from Personal Accident and Public Liability through to Commercial Property and High Net Worth Claims.

Richard Fleming, DCA Technical Claims Controller at Woodgate & Clark, says: “The insurers and MGAs we support are putting an increasing focus on Service Level Agreements (SLAs). We have seen a renewed drive in this regard as an outcome of the Consumer Duty rules and guidance as well as the ongoing challenges of claims inflation. Our expertise in controlling claims, liaising with underwriting teams and loss adjusters then expediting the process to meet each customer’s specific requirements is coming under much greater demand and we have expanded the team rapidly, bringing in expert talent. In fact, our team has doubled in size in just the last year.”

The newest recruits to the team are Steve Woolf, Karen Watson, and Keith Settle.

•    Steve Woolf joins the team as Technical Claims Controller bringing over three decades of technical claims experience. He joins Woodgate & Clark from Camberford Underwriting where he was Claims Manager responsible for UK property and liability claims from first advice through to settlement. He will work alongside Richard Fleming.
•    Karen Watson, formerly Assistant Technical Manager for High Net Worth and Commercial Claims at Covea, brings a further boost to the team and is also a Technical Claims Controller, working with Richard Fleming and the team
•    Finally, Keith Settle (MAAT) has joined Woodgate & Clark’s DCA team as Senior Bordereau Technician.

Richard Fleming concludes: “We are delighted to welcome Steve, Karen and Keith to the business. We never underestimate the fundamental trust it takes to work with a DCA team and that’s why we go to great lengths to ensure we have the specialist expertise our customers need to make the right decisions for them and their customers.”
